Maryse Gaudreault

Maryse Gaudreault has served as chair of the National Capital Commission since June 2023. Maryse has extensive experience in the fields of public administration and politics. She was responsible for the administration and management of activities at the national office of the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and at the Fédération canadienne pour l'alphabétisation en français. She served as the director of the Fondation du CHSLD de Hull. From 2000 to 2008, she was a political adviser and press secretary to the Member of the Quebec National Assembly for Hull, and in 2008 was herself elected to represent that riding, serving consecutive terms until 2022. This included being a parliamentary assistant to the Quebec Minister of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women and to the Minister of International Relations. As the third vice-president of the Quebec National Assembly, she carried out several mandates, including chairing the Cercle des femmes parlementaires, the Fondation Jean-Charles-Bonenfant, the National Assembly’s zero harassment committee and the working group on the creation of a monument for victims of residential schools. Maryse also has many years of community service to her credit. She has served as honorary chair of numerous fundraising campaigns for several community organizations, volunteered at the Maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie hospice for several years, and was president of the Association des résidents du quartier du Dôme for five years. For her service to the ideals of cooperation and friendship within the Francophonie, she was inducted as Knight and then as Officer of the Ordre de la Pléiade.
